  3. Collaboration of Teachers Day and Feast Day
"It is rightly said: A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart.”

Teachers Day is celebrated on 5th of September every year on the occasion of the birth of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was known as an amazing teacher of his time. Teachers Day holds a significant place in our hearts as it provides us with an opportunity to reflect upon and acknowledge the exceptional contributions of teachers in our lives.

Exaltation of the Holy Cross also called Universal Exaltation of the Holy and Life Giving Cross or Holy Cross Day is celebrated on 14th September to honour the Cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified. The Cross represents Christ’s victory over death.

The Holy Cross Convent School belongs to the congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross. Our Holy Cross sisters renders a variety of services in the field of education, medical and selfless services in orphanages, houses for the aging and the destitute.

Holy cross Sisters imbued with our founder’s charism of “Compassionate love to all – especially the under privileged.”

Holy Cross Convent School celebrated Teacher’s Day and Feast Day on 12th and 13th September respectively with great pomp and grandeur. The programme was conducted in the school auditorium which was beautifully decorated with flowers, banners and festoons. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by heart-warming speech by our Principal, Rev.Sr. Beena who highlighted about the importance of the Cross in our life and expressed genuine appreciation and gratitude to the teachers for their role in helping the school achieve new heights.

To add a touch of creativity and joy to our celebration, students prepared a lineup of enchanting performances like prayer service, song, dance, speeches, plays with the values based on dignity, truthfulness, responsibility and freedom. The programme truly reflected the enduring bond between Sisters, students and teachers.

In this spirit of appreciation and reflection, students expressed their heartfelt thanks with flowers and cards with beautiful quotes.

Sisters and teachers were over whelmed to greet one another with gratefulness and shared their feelings with gifts and the celebration ended with sumptuous meal.
