Parents Seminar 28th Sept 2024
“Together may we give our children the roots to grow and the wings to fly.”

On the 28 th of September 2024, Parents Seminar for the academic year 2024-25 was organized under the guidance and leadership of our Headmistress Rev.Sr.Anees George for Std.I to Std.IV in the school auditorium. The topic of the day was “Care for the child by parents”. Target is the child but not to hurt but to help to grow. School is their second home. So, it is their duty to take care of the school. Respect the teachers, non-teaching staff and the management. The distinguished speaker for the day was Rev.Fr.Sandeep Borges who currently serves as a parish priest at Our Lady of Sea Church , Malad (W).

This event aimed at educating and empowering parents with practical strategies to support their child’s emotional, academic and social development. The event began with the lighting of the lamp followed by prayer service and introduction of chief guest.

Rev.Fr.Sandeep explained that effective parenting involves setting clear boundaries for children, importance of communication, patience and consistency was stressed and parents were encouraged to actively listen to their child’s concern and foster a relationship built on trust . Parents were also provided guidelines on how to ensure that their children use digital devices responsibly.

The interactive session allowed parents to share their personal experiences and ask questions leading to a dynamic exchange of ideas. Fr.Sandeep also recommended a growth mindset, helping children build resilience and adaptability in the face of challenges.

The seminar was a success leaving parents with a deeper understanding of their crucial role in their child’s development, reinforcing the school’s commitment to strengthening the partnership between parents and educators in promoting holistic child’s development. Through seminars like these, school and parents can work hand in hand to ensure the development of children, equipping them for both academic success and personal growth. Hope this seminar will create a conducive environment for learning in the families.
