ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION AT HOLY CROSS CONVENT SCHOOL, KALYAN (WEST)
Holy Cross Convent School, Kalyan, Pre-Primary and Primary Section held its Annual Day celebration on 14 th December 2024. The day was filled with excitement, entertainment woven around the theme “Bloom where you are planted”.
The event was organized to commemorate the achievements of our students and staff, as well as their contributions to the school. The celebration also provided an opportunity for the students to showcase their talents and abilities.
The show began with a warm welcome by Mrs. Laxmi Panjabi and Mrs. Maria Joseph who gave an inspiring inaugural address, also highlighted the importance of such events in the school calendar and how they help in promoting the school’s values and ethos. The program was scheduled at 5.30 p.m. Many eminent dignitaries were present at the Annual Day Celebration. The Chief guests included dignitaries like Rev. Father Simon D’Souza [Parish Priest and Manager of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Kalyan] and Guest of Honour, Mrs. Archana Dusane – Sonar [Senior Police Inspector, Thane Railway Police Station, Mumbai]. The School invited all the parents to the function which began at 6.00 pm with traditional lamp lighting by the Special guests.
The school campus was adored with colourful banners, lights and thematic props creating a visually appealing ambiance.
The Annual Day Celebration provided an opportunity for parents and local community to actively participate in the school’s festivities. Their presence and involvement enhanced the sense of community and support for the school.
The program was an amalgamation of various benefiting the theme wondrously. The thematic show of talent, imagination and organization was the essence of the evening. Our students danced to the tune of song with colourful props. The audience was enthralled by the theme-based dances, skit, family dance, miming, tableau… The props and costumes added colour to the festive occasion with the synchronized dance movement to the foot tapping music captivated the audience. Every performance drew unceasing applause by spectators. A progressive brief report of the achievements of the school was presented by our Headmistress Rev. Sr. Anees George. Audio visual presentations showcased memorable moments and accomplishments, creating a nostalgic atmosphere for the audience.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest stated that the students have smartly carved a niche for themselves. Also added that students should not only by imparted excellent education but also be given great scruple and values so they can effectively serve their nation. Their presence added prestige to the event, and their encouraging words inspired each one.
After four hours of grand performances by students, the program ended with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the PTA Executive Representative Mr. Wasim Shaikh to extend the warm regards to everyone present at the Annual Day Celebration.
In conclusion the Annual Day Celebration at Holy Cross Convent School, Kalyan (W) was a resounding success, bringing together students, parents, teachers and the community to celebrate the achievements of the Academic Year. This grand event had strengthened the sense of unity and pride within the school community. The Annual Day Celebration was a memorable event for everyone.
