Golden Jubilee Culmination
“Half a century moulding young minds for a brighter tomorrow.”

Golden Jubilee celebration is not just about celebrating a day but celebrating a journey. It is time for reflection, celebration and gratitude. It is a mile stone that marks our success and progress. It is an occasion to recall the marvellous ways in which the school has fulfilled its mission in imparting quality education, moral and spiritual values, and discipline in students.

Holy Cross Convent School and Junior College, Kalyan (W) solemnized its Golden Jubilee Celebration on 10th February and 11th February consecutively. Holy Cross Convent School was founded in the year 1974. It is owned and managed by the Maharashtra Holy Cross Sisters Society. The 50 Glorious years of enlightening began with rejoicing in the history of Holy Cross Convent School. “Moved with God’s spirit, going forward with courage” was the theme of the entire programme.

On the first day – 10th February 2024 with great pride and privilege we welcomed our Chief Guest – Archbishop Oswald Cardinal Gracias (Archdiocese of Mumbai). The Guest of Honour was Sr.Archana Padikara, Provincial Superior of Southern Province, and Dr.Indu Rani Jakhar, IAS (Municipal Commissioner KDMC) who graced the occasion. The celebration started with great zeal and enthusiasm with the school anthem. The teacher gave a gist of the whole event of the Golden Jubilee celebration. It was a golden opportunity to felicitate the managers and principals for their dedicated service rendered for the continuous growth of the school in their respective tenure.

The entertainment programme included dance, drama and songs which commenced with lighting of the lamp and welcome of the dignitaries.

Our Chief Guest – Archbishop Oswald Cardinal Gracias appreciated our school for mainly focussing on the girl child education which fostered their all-round development.

On the second day – 11th February 2024, our Chief Guest Sr.Archana Padikara, Guest of Honour- Mrs.Lalita Daitule (Education officer, Thane) Dr.Rupali Khomane (Block Education Officer, Thane) and Mr.Vijay Sarkate ( Education Officer, Kalyan). It was a day to express gratitude to our ex- teachers and Jubilarians for their continuous efforts in forming and moulding the young buds to reach out to their dreams. They were felicitated with a shawl and a memento.

The entire programme was well appreciated by the school management, Educators, Block Educational officers, Politicians, Ex-Students, Ex-teachers, parents, well-wishers and friends. The audience were kept in rapt attention, parents were left brimming with pleasure and satisfaction to see their little ones on stage, performing with zeal and confidence.

The programme concluded with the national song. We thank our school fraternity for giving an opportunity to the students to bring out their hidden talents in the variety of dances, plays, sports, speeches, competitions held during this 50 years Jubilee Celebration.

As we celebrated this milestone, we are reminded of the invaluable role education plays in shaping young minds and fostering holistic development.
